What was I thinking? Did I really state that the Mets could realistically take three out of four games in this series? Surely someone hijacked my laptop, hacked into my account, and started posting craziness in my name.
Watching a bullpen get beaten like a rented mule on a nightly basis is a very difficult thing to watch. Gary Cohen shared this following nugget of information: The Mets have been outscored 77-36 in the 7th and 8th innings of games this season.
Ouch. Much of that seems like it has happened in the last week too. That sarcastic little ditty may not be far off base considering the fact that the Pirates scored all nine of their runs in those not so magical frames tonight.
Keep in mind, that Cohen’s statement was made prior to Justin Turner’s solo shot so you can change that to 77-37. Alright, the gap is now at 40 even. Yay.
If things don’t change quickly, we will be having another 2009 all over again. Sigh.
